Each year during April, we celebrate World Immunization Week.
This year, it begins on April 24th right through til April 30th. When WHO (The World Health Organisation) promote the use of vaccines, they promote the protection of people all ages again disease.
Immunizations of all kinds save millions of lives every year, being recognised as the worlds most successful health intervention.
Despite this, there are still up to 20 million children who miss vital vaccines during adolescence, adulthood and into old age around the world.
World Immunization Week 2021 urges greater engagement regarding immunization around the globe, aiming to promote the importance of vaccination in bringing people together and improving the health and well-being of everyone, everywhere throughout life.
WHO also claim: As part of the 2021 campaign, WHO, partners and individuals around the world will unite to:
Increase trust and confidence in vaccines to maintain or increase vaccine acceptance
Increase investment in vaccines, including routine immunisation, to remove barriers to access
At Peak Pharmacies, we are lucky enough to administer the Flu Vaccination each year - this year no different. We are currently taking bookings and highly recommend a Flu Shot to all of our customers and are able to administer the vaccination to anyone over the age of 10. We also stress to our customers that are not aware, there must be a 14 day gap between your Flu Vaccination and your Covid Vaccination - so NOW is the time to book your Flu Shot!
